Family-friendly is the theme at the Spring Hotel Bitacora. There are four pools for adults and one for children. A bonus playground fitted out with slides, climbing walls and a zlipline. The main restaurant goes for international fare, with big buffet breakfasts taking a starring role.

The first-class playground lines up climbing walls, king-size climbing frames and a mini multi-sports pitch. There's an air-conditioned gym with cardio equipment and weights too. There are five pools overall, one with a waterslide and a large shallow area for children, and one for kids exclusively. There's also a big family pool in the middle of it all, edged by loungers and parasols, with lawns and palm trees adding a bit of greenery. Plus, there's an adults only pool in the spa.
