Century Park Hotel
This hotel has a central location in inner Bangkok, right among the bars and restaurants. From the outside, it’s an average high-rise tower block. Step inside, though, and it’s all floor-to-ceiling murals, plush velvet seating and gold chandeliers. You’ll find a pool up on the roof. It’s surrounded by glossy palms and looks out over the city. Drop down a few floors, meanwhile, and there’s a trio of places to eat. One’s an international buffet eatery, one serves Italian fare, and the other is a cosy cake shop.
Outrigger Koh Samui Beach Resort
Beach days don’t get much brighter than at OUTRIGGER Koh Samui Beach Resort. Sitting pretty on Lamai Beach, this is a place made for families, friends, and fun-seekers alike. Four swimming pools (including one with a waterslide) and the island’s only indoor laser tag arena make boredom a non-starter, while the Coral Kids Club and games room keep little ones busy from sunrise to sunset. Meanwhile, grown-ups can sip cocktails at the beach club, unwind with a massage in the shade, or simply soak up the views.
Kata Palm Resort and Spa Hotel
Stashed away in a salad-green jungle, the Kata Palm Resort’s a 10-minute walk from the paper-white sands of Kata Beach. There are nods to Thai culture at every turn in this hotel, from the decor in the bedrooms to the food served up in the trio of restaurants. You can expect Thai cookery classes and fruit-carving workshops, too. The pools are straight out of the top drawer – there are two that curve their way around the hotel gardens like noodles, and another up on the rooftop. Elsewhere, you’ll find a kids’ room, and a fitness centre.
