Days 1-3: Arrive in Boston
Arrive in Boston, one of the oldest and most culturally rich cities in the USA, and make your way to your hotel. Boston is a walkable city and offers historical sites, interesting museums along with vast grand green spaces, and a breathtaking waterfront. Stroll along the 2.5-mile historic Freedom Trail and learn about America's history, explore Boston Common's beautiful green space and see the 'The Embrace' - a bronze sculpture that commemorates Martin Luther King and his wife Coretta. Take a swan boat ride or grab a coffee and soak up the city's atmosphere. Enjoy fresh seafood by the bay or head down to Little Italy and sit outside under the lights listening to the music play from the restaurants. To help you see all of Boston's sights we have included the one day Boston Old Town Trolley tour.
Days 4-6: Boston to New York City
Take the Northeast Regional Amtrak to New York's Penn Station for your three night stay in the Big Apple. Explore the wonders of Central Park, discover bustling Times Square's vibrant atmosphere, and the wide choice of shops, bars, restaurants and entertainment that make New York one of the most energetic cities in the world. We've included a one day hop on/hop off bus ticket that takes you to all of New York's different and diverse neighbourhoods and to attractions including Central Park, the Brooklyn Bridge and Battery Park where the ferries depart for the Statue of Liberty. See New York from above at one of the observation decks including, the Empire State Building or Summit One Vanderbilt.
Days 7-9: Amtrak - New York City to Montreal
The final journey on the Adirondack train to Montreal travels through the lush wine country of the Hudson Valley. Montréal is one of Canada's most vibrant and multicultural cities and there is always something to see and do in this colourful city. Take a stroll down Rue St. Denis and pop into one of the authentic pubs and restaurants, or visit the Notre-Dame Basilica, which is one of the most beautiful Catholic churches in Canada. During your stay we've included a full day trip to Quebec City which oozes charm with cobblestone streets, Parisian style cafes, 17th and 18th century French and Canadian architecture and the stunning Fairmont Chateau Frontenac Hotel which dominates the city's skyline and overlooks the St Lawrence River.
Day 10: Homeward Bound
After some last minute sightseeing and shopping, your rail adventure in Eastern Canada and the USA has come to an end. Make your way back to the airport for your return flight back to the UK
